This morning it has emerged that the government will ask the Queen to suspend Parliament just after recess in a cynical attempt to force through a no deal Brexit.
This is completely undemocratic and I will work with colleagues across Parliament to fight this every step of the way. We must prevent a no deal Brexit.
I will continue to support any Parliamentary options that help us avoid this. I want to see us retain as many of the benefits associated with EU membership as possible and ideally we would simply remain a member. I will also continue to support the revocation of Article 50 in the event of a no deal Brexit.
Like many of you, I am extremely concerned about the damage any form of Brexit will do to our economy. These would be most serious if Boris Johnson is allowed to force through a disastrous no deal Brexit. Many of you have written to me expressing concerns about food and medicine shortages – these are concerns I profoundly share.
I have been proudly representing your views on Brexit since being elected last June and I will continue to do so.
You can see my record below. Please do not hesitate to contact me with your concerns.
