This week I was granted a question to the Prime Minister. This week is the 73rd anniversary of the arrival of the first people from the Caribbean on the Windrush.
However, these people have been treated appallingly by our Conservative Government, made to feel unwelcome and exposed to “hostile environment” policies. There has been enough delay on the Windrush Compensation Scheme – it’s time to hand it over to an independent body.
I reminded the Prime Minister that yesterday was the 73rd Anniversary of #Windrush – too many people are still waiting for justice.
Empty words about the "Mayflower" are not enough. The Windrush Generation deserve compensation, delivered by an independent body, now. #PMQs pic.twitter.com/EHSAae0ptg
