After an amazing campaign led by the charity FiveXMore, MPs finally got the chance to debate the distressing issue of race inequality in maternal healthcare.

Black women are currently 4-5 times more likely to die during pregnancy or soon after birth, and Black babies are 181% more likely to be born stillborn.

This is a tragedy that we cannot ignore. I will take every opportunity to highlight this issue and push for the Government to take it seriously.
