Lewisham East MP Janet Daby speaks to community volunteers at the Lee Green Consortium annual party

I was delighted to attend the Lee Green Consortium’s annual party for volunteers, to celebrate and thank them for their work in our community.

The Lee Green Consortium is an association of seventeen groups that work together to improve life in Lee Green, coordinate events and activities, share knowledge and resources, and support each other.

Working with the Ward Assembly, Councillors and local residents they provide various services and facilities across the area. It also represents our voluntary and community sector in various other ways, such as an annual showcase at the Manor House Gardens Festival.

The Consortium also works to support the volunteers who give up their valuable time to make all this work possible and recognise their vital contributions to our area and the borough of Lewisham.

These organisations are the heart of our community and it was a pleasure to meet these committed volunteers.
