I was delighted to attend the Food ‘n’ Fun in the Fields community cohesion event in Ladywell Fields.

This brilliant event was run by the Catford Community Association (CCA), which is passionate about fostering social harmony and cooperation by bringing people together, celebrating what residents have in common and focusing on the positives in our neighbourhoods.

The event featured a fantastic range of food, community and charity stalls, an under 12s fun fair, a treasure hunt based on local knowledge, nature-themed activities and much more.

Food was at the heart of the event as the CCA believes it is the one thing that unites us all, regardless of religion, politics, age or background.

In keeping with that theme I was delighted to sit on the judges panel for their Great Community Cake Challenge!

The CCA is doing fantastic work to bring residents together and remind us of the strength that diversity brings to our communities.
