I was joined in Parliament by young representatives of the Send my Friend to School campaign, which brings together thousands of children across the UK to speak up for the right to education, and remind world leaders of their promise that all children should get the chance to go to school.

It is the UK arm of the Global Campaign for Education.

I plan to build on former MP Heidi Alexander’s promotion of this campaign to encourage it to spread throughout the local schools in my constituency. I have already brought it to the attention of community safety within Lewisham Council and I look forward to speaking with school heads in the near future.
